Your Scaffold Design Questions Answered
What to send us, what your design includes and what to expect along the way.
-
Please send us the project location, a brief description of what the scaffold needs to achieve, and your required design date. Available drawings, dimensions and site photographs will help us understand the proposed arrangement and any restrictions.
Where known, include loading requirements, sheeting or netting, and any specific checking or approval requirements. Don’t worry if you don’t have everything—we’ll review what you provide and identify any further information needed to confirm our scope and quotation.
-
Your quotation will identify the deliverables for your project. Depending on the agreed scope, these may include scaffold design drawings, supporting calculations and relevant design notes covering loading, ties, supports and other requirements.
The checking arrangements will also be identified. Site surveys, independent checks and other additional services will be included where expressly agreed, so you know what is covered before work begins.
-
Our typical turnaround for standard schemes is 7–10 working days, subject to workload and confirmation at the time of instruction. We agree your design issue date once we have the required project information and instruction to proceed.
Complex schemes, changes to the brief or additional checking requirements may require longer. External review and approval timescales are separate from our design issue date. If you have an urgent requirement, please contact us to discuss availability.
-
Please contact us before making changes to the designed arrangement, or if site conditions differ from the information used for the design. We’ll review the proposed change and advise whether revised drawings, calculations or further information are needed.
Where a change affects the agreed scope, we’ll explain any additional fees and programme implications before undertaking the additional work. An apparently small alteration can affect other parts of the design, so it should not be assumed acceptable without review.
-
Yes. Send us the information you have, together with a description of the proposed work and any known site constraints. We’ll discuss your requirements, identify gaps in the information and recommend an appropriate scope for our services.
If the project requires input from another specialist, or confirmation of matters such as the existing structure’s capacity, we’ll highlight this so the necessary responsibilities and information can be agreed
