DH Scaffold Services Ltd provides independent CAT III checks of third-party scaffold designs for rail projects. We examine the design basis and supporting engineering information against the applicable standards and agreed project requirements.

What our check covers

The scope is confirmed for each appointment and may include:

• General arrangement drawings and construction details.

• Design calculations, methods and underlying assumptions.

• Loading requirements, including relevant wind and operational actions.

• Overall stability, bracing, tie arrangements and load paths.

• Support conditions, connections and interfaces with existing structures.

• Design-related erection, alteration and dismantling requirements.

We raise technical queries where information is missing, assumptions require clarification or amendments are needed. Findings are communicated clearly to help the designer and project team address outstanding matters.

Supporting your engineering assurance submission

Once the relevant comments have been satisfactorily resolved and the check completed, we provide the agreed checking documentation. This may include a check report and the certification required within our appointment, supporting the project’s engineering assurance submission.

The design check forms part of the wider assurance process; it does not replace any separate acceptance, consent or permission required before site works proceed.
