Ian Hewitt’s Bio
Background.
In May 2011, I established DH Scaffold Services Ltd following a long career in engineering since leaving school (long and distant memory now…!). I was involved in designing reinforced concrete, structural steelwork then moved across into scaffold design in 1999.
Why I Love What I Do.
Every day provides me with new challenges from both a design point of view and running of the company, with each design having different problems which need to be tackled using different methods.
Interests outside work ?
I take our dog, Teddy for walks most evenings, I also like a few beers on the weekend, then again, who doesn’t…!! Im a keen photographer too where you can find me out hiking round Cornwall with my cameras most weekends. Cornwall has been my home since 2022.
Favourite drink ?
A simple pint of lager or cider is all I ask for with the occasional southern comfort and coke, I like Disaronno too. I used to drink snakebites many years ago but drinking one of those now would put me in bed for two days..!
Favourite car ?
I like the big ‘Chelsea taxis’ like Range Rover Sports, Audi Q7’s and Porsche Cayenne Turbo’s.. I don’t want to pollute the atmosphere, but I love em…!
Nicknames ive had.
Bart Simpson and Ginger Ninja, both due to my hair colour plus I used to do kickboxing a good few years ago but not any longer..!
Favourite Quote ?
‘Hey up cocker’… ‘I’m hungry’…
